Geographic

data processing routines that produced rudimentary character maps. The
evolution of advanced geoprocessing tools took hold in the early 1970s.
The mass implementation of GIS software grew exponentially in the 1980s,
and today it is the integrating technology that enables organizations
to bring together many different types of data and databases, for an
all-encompassing, unified strategy of spatial data access and management.
